Deacon Steve Maier grew up in the western Wisconsin town of Balsam Lake. He is the middle child in a family of seven. He attended the University of Wisconsin –Stout where he earned a BS degree in Industrial Science Education. He works full time as an operations manager for Target. Steve was ordained a deacon by Bishop Lee Piché on September 19th, 2009. While studying at the St. Paul Seminary, he completed an internship at Dorothy Day Center, and was chaplain at Woodwinds Hospital and Totem Town. He has helped advise, coordinate and lead youth trips to Steubenville Conferences throughout the United States. His current outreach ministry is Chaplain for Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury. Deacon Steve and his wife Lynn live in W. St. Paul and have one child, a daughter, Caitlin, who is a college student.
